COMPASS

First Contact Package

Medical research data is a valuable asset in pandemic response. The NUM-COMPASS team shows how scientists and developers from a wide range of projects and institutions can effectively share their data by considering the “FAIR” principles and determining the conformance of their dataset to the German Corona Consensus Dataset (GECCO).

FAIR stands for findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable. Through the FAIR principles applied, the data collected gains value because the data is available to the research community. If as many researchers as possible base their studies and data collections on these principles, isolated individuals will become a critical mass: together, we have a chance to make much greater progress in pandemic control.
